Klean Kanteen Partners with the 2011 Wild and Scenic Film Festival

Wild and Scenic Film FestivalCHICO, Calif. (January 14, 2011) - Klean Kanteen, maker of the first BPA-free metal bottle designed for personal hydration, has joined the alliance of national partners for the Wild and Scenic Film Festival, the largest environmental film festival in the U.S.

The Wild and Scenic Film Festival is put together by the South Yuba River Citizen's League (SYRCL), a vibrant community organization leading a range of river and watershed programs. Now in its 9th year, the festival is the largest of its kind in the U.S. This year’s festival kicks off with a 3-day event this weekend, January 14-16, in Nevada City, CA, and follows with a nationwide tour reaching over one hundred venues.

"At Klean Kanteen, we choose our partners very carefully and work year round on collaborative projects related to health, sustainability and environmental awareness," said Klean Kanteen partnerships manager Will Gainok. "Our decision to partner with the Wild and Scenic Film Festival was an obvious one – we share the common goal of inspiring the nation to take action on behalf of the planet."

The festival partners with environmental groups, nature centers, nonprofits, museums, universities and outdoor retailers to host tour venues across the United States. Each venue custom builds their program from over 50 films offered on tour. Films cover every environmental topic from sustainable agriculture and climate change to alternative energy and watershed management.

Klean Kanteen will be the official water bottle partner for the 2011 festival, and has designed a custom Kanteen that will be sold at the opening. Klean Kanteen is proud to join the alliance of national partners alongside like-minded brands Patagonia, CLIF Bar, Osprey Packs, Sierra Nevada Brewery Co. and media partner, Grist.org.
