Last Chance Summer Trips
With school back in full swing in most areas, all we can think about is how fast the summer went by and are hoping we aren’t alone in this feeling. We've been brainstorming ways to squeeze every drop of sunshine, travel, and good company out of this summer.
We decided to jot down a list of perfect last minute getaways that won’t break the bank and can involve the whole family. We are pretty spoiled to have our HQ located in Chico, Ca where bike trails, swimming holes, parks, are minutes away, but sometimes we need a road trip to keep us rejuvenated.
Glamping
If you don’t necessarily want to take the time to pack everything that’s necessary for a few days in the woods--glamp. Jump on Hipcamp, and look up the best campsites near you. You’ll find a slew of options ranging from tent campsites to decked out airstreams. Take your pick, choose your dates, pack a bag for you and the kiddos and take the weekend to explore a new place. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with how many hidden gems there are within 1 to 2 hours of you.
Amusement Parks
Sometimes spending the weekend riding insane rides is exactly what you need to end summer with a bang. But keep in mind that amusement parks can be pricey, so grab a friend and take a couple days to be a kid again.
A Day or Two in the City
Is there a city near you that’s just far enough away to make it inconvenient to do a day trip? Then now is your time to plan a weekend trip. Explore museums, parks, and good eats. These mini trips can be the most fun if you plan them out right. Live in the heart of a city? Then plan a staycation and hit all of the touristy but fun attractions you never seem to find the time for.
Find a Body of Water
Whether it be a lake or an ocean. There’s something relaxing about lounging by a body of water and literally not doing anything else. Being in California gives us a ton of different options. Depending on where you are, driving to the nearest beach can be a half day trip to get there. Or if you’re more of a mountain/lake person...even shorter! So take your pick and give yourself a couple days to soak up the last moments of summer, and don’t forget to stay hydrated.
