Easy Valentine’s Day Chocolate Covered Strawberry Recipe
Klean’s passionate about a lot of things, but this time of year we find ourselves loving all things sweet, and we’re hoping everyone else is on the same page as us. Plus, who can make it through Valentine’s Day weekend without indulging in a few sugary treats? We know we can't. We decided to share one of our favorite recipes for holiday weekend that everyone can enjoy.
What You'll Need:
- Medium sized pot
- Large heatproof bowl
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- 1 lb. of large strawberries
- 1 lb. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Coconut flakes (optional)
Directions:
First, grab your baking sheet and add parchment paper to the sheet. Then wash your strawberries and pat them completely dry afterwards. Take your medium sized pot and add 2 -3 inches of water or fill it until ¼ full and put large bowl on top to create a double boiler.
Heat the water over medium heat, bring to a boil and immediately lower the heat to the lowest setting. Add 3/4 of the chocolate chips. Let them melt slowly, stirring with a spatula to make sure there are no chunks. Then add the rest of your chocolate and stir! Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 5- 10 second increments, stirring in between until the chocolate is completely melted.
Then, grab the strawberries by the leaves and dip into the chocolate. Add chocolate covered strawberries to parchment paper and let cool—during the cooling process you can sprinkle some of the coconut on top.
Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes and then dive in. Our new Food Box collection would be perfect to store these, and make them easier to transport. We hope this recipe makes your weekend just a little sweeter!
